Final Project - Environment, Bunker, and More

In this world the player inhabits a bunker hidden at the bottom of a canyon. Years ago, there was a small little village at the top of the canyon that suffered from raiders and scavengers. As a result, people died or left their homes. Despite how it is now abandoned, supplies can still be found there for the bunker, but players must be careful since the area is still frequented by scavengers.

With this level I wanted to create a convincing canyon with rock detail and wildlife.  To do this I focused on ambiance sounds of the river, crickets, birds, and background music. I also added fireflies created by the Niagara System and falling leaves. In order to make the level feel more convincing, I created a postprocessing lens flare to give the sun a slight glare and adjusted the exposure levels to make the level colors feel more balanced.

As the story suggests there are scavengers that patrol throughout the world, and there are a few extra post processing features to enjoy. When drinking the bottles from the bunker it will cause a chromatic aberration effect, and if players press 'V' they will be able to see better in darker areas.

Unfortunately, the final build of the game breaks the Navmesh for the patrolling scavengers, so sometimes it works and other times it does not.
